Ipod in recovery mode and wont turn on...HELP!!!?

tried to jailbreak ipod....but i didnt turn it off to do it, cause i misread the directions....so now it went into recovery mode. i plug it up to the computer and it says that its in recovery mode and for me to restore, so when i go to do that....it told me i needed to update my itunes....so i did that and now its still saying the same thing....does anyone know how i can get it to restore??
