Well if you are using windows firewall then replace it with other firewall like online armour or comodo, because WF don't have outbound protection. also use sandboxie and sandbox your browser. also use winpatrol, this is a nice little program which blocks any unwanted system modification. You can also use opendns which will protect you from dns based attacts and phishing sites.
