Heroin Showed up on Drug Test - Could it be from Morphine?

If you're taking Roxycodone AND Morphine, you're going to test positive for Opiates, not Heroin. On all but the most discriminating of drug tests, Heroin and Morphine test the same. If you have a prescription for the Roxycodone and the Morphine, then you have no problems. The office manager is an imbecile, and she's actually defaming you. I think the HIPAA violation suggestion is a good one. In addition to violation of your privacy, I would also look at Defamation of Character, and Slander. Frankly, she sounds reckless and irresponsible. She should never have seen your drug screen results; only the Physician (or his Nurse, who is a medical professional, provided she's also involved in your care) can see that. An office manager is NOT a medical professional; she's a paperclip bender. If she ACCIDENTALLY saw the results while processing or filing your paperwork, she was under legal obligation to keep it strictly to herself, and I'm sure that is a condition of her employment. It is NOT her role to discuss any of your lab results with you or anyone else; she's not qualified to interpret them. Only a Doctor or Nurse can do that. And if she's caused you injury in any way (revealed it to a third party other than the Doctor or his Nurse), then you now own her.
